Action cancer bus visits Creggan -Kelly

Sinn Féin Councillor Colly Kelly has said it’s important that people take up the opportunity of a free health check when the Action Cancer big bus comes to your local area.

He was speaking after attending the Action Cancer big bus on a visit to Creggan Cancer bus creggan 1

Colly Kelly said “I came along here today to get the free health check .When I heard the bus was coming to Creggan I  made the appointment .This morning some of the things I had was the  likes of my cholesterol and blood pressure taken along with a health and lifestyle awareness programme”

The BIG BUS enables Action Cancer to provide a more effective & accessible regional service across the north . Each day the bus travels to different locations to provide it’s services to community groups and work places. On a typical BIG BUS service day there are 3 different services available. Each service runs simultaneously from 10am to 3pm.

Councillor Kelly went on to say “I would urge people to go and use its services when it’s in their area. It is great to see such a facility being made available to people right in the heart of our communities. Sometimes people are put off going to the hospital or even their own doctor for a check-up. If this service helps sign post anyone to go to their doctor or to go and get an appointment in the hospital then it is worth it”
