Action needed over water distruption -McCartney

Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney has urged the regional development minister to take urgent action to resolve the ongoing dispute, which has left 9,000 people without water. water-supply-

The Foyle  MLA said;

“Thousands of people across counties Derry, Tyrone, and Fermanagh have been left without water as a result of the ongoing dispute between trade unions and NI Water.

“My party colleague Declan McAleer met  with regional development minister Danny Kennedy yesterday to discuss this issue and urged him to recognise the urgency of this situation.

“He impressed on the minister the need for this matter to be resolved as soon as possible. And also requested that a special meeting of the regional development committee be held with a specific focus on the disruption to water supply.
