Adequate resources need to be made available for street cleaning-McGinley

Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has highlighted Council’s responsibility to ensure appropriate levels of street cleaning are available for the Ballymagroarty area.

Cllr. McGinley said: “At a recent site meeting in Ballymagroarty with Council staff and community workers I highlighted the concerns of residents over the condition of roads, footpaths and walkways across the estate.

Whilst there is an acknowledgement that Derry City Council does not have sole responsibility for street cleaning I highlighted the need for adequate resources to be made available to ensure the estate is kept at an acceptable level of cleanliness.

Residents of Ballymagroarty are entitled to a first class cleansing service and I will be working with Council staff to ensure that adequate resources are in place to deliver on this objective.”photo
