Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has staged a protest in the European Parliament at the recent bombing of Syria.
Martina Anderson said:
“Today in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, I along with other MEPs staged a protest against the weekend bombing of Syrian by Britain, the US and France.
“We held up signs calling for an end to the bombing and an end to the war in Syria which has brought untold misery to millions and created a huge humanitarian crisis.
“Today in the Parliament we had the bizarre spectacle of French President Emmanuel Macron addressing the Parliament about upholding democratic values just days after dropping bombs on Syria.
“What we need to see is a humanitarian response to the ongoing crisis in Syria, not a military response which will only add to the pain and suffering.” Ends/Críoch
