Sinn Féin MLA Martina Anderson has welcomed a £360,000 funding boost for a Derry community project designed to reach isolated and disadvantaged men.
The Foyle MLA said:
“I welcome the recent funding allocation of £361,900 grant from the Bog Lottery Fund to the Leafair Community Association for a project aimed at reaching isolated and disadvantaged men.
“The MALE: Men; Active, Learning and Engaging in the Community’ project is an excellent initiative which aims to reach out to men and involve in community, social and economic and cultural activity.
“It will involve setting up a Volunteer Shed and will host employability training and skills workshops.
“These projects are an essential part of our community and it is great to see them being supported in this way and I wish them success in the future.” Críoch/Ends
