Sinn Féin Foyle MLA Martina Anderson has welcomed the news that Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Planning Committee have approved outline plans for a major IT Services and Data Centre.
The Atlantic Hub, will be located at Foyle Port.
Martina Anderson who sits on the Assembly’s Infrastructure Committee said
“This is excellent news for Derry and the North West.
“The Atlantic Hub will help provide high speed connectivity between North America and Europe.
“We know that such projects can act as a catalyst for similar businesses to be attracted to an area they have set up in bringing in additional investment.
“It will provide jobs in the construction phase and it will also provide much-needed employment for the local area and enhance the region’s reputation and technology capability.
“I would like to commend everyone involved in getting this project across the line.
