Appeal for those behind fires adjacent to railway line to stop –Fleming

Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Fleming has appealed for those behind lighting fires on the grass banking adjacent to the railway tracks at Strathfoyle to stop.

He said “In recent days there have been a number of incidents of the grass banking beside the railway tracks being set on fire. The dangers that this is causing are clearly obvious and it is also a drain on the resources of the Fire Service.

“I would make an appeal for this stop and pay tribute to those working on the ground trying to persuade young people not to be getting caught up in this.
