Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Councillor Sandra Duffy has urged people in Derry to avail of free health checks for Blood Pressure and Cholesterol to help prevent people from having a heart attack or stroke.
Councillor Duffy said
“I would encourage anyone concerned about their blood pressure or cholesterol to take up the offer of a free health check.
“It’s very important that we all look after our health. These free checks can often spot if there is a problem and flag it up so it can be resolved with your GP.
“A greater focus on prevention and early intervention measures in tackling health inequalities is needed and I welcome the efforts being made by organisations such as Chest Heart and Stroke in this regard.”
“Sinn Féin will continue to engage with organisations on ways to tackle health inequalities through prevention and early intervention.”
“The free service is in Derry on Wednesday 28th November and anyone looking to take up the offer should contact 028 9032 0184 to book a slot.
