Sinn Féin Education spokesperson Karen Mullan has wished the Principal of St Mary’s College Marie Lindsay well as she announced her retirement.
The Foyle MLA said “I would like to send my best wishes to Marie on the announcement of her retirement.
“She was appointed principal of St Mary’s College in 2006 and has been part of the teaching staff there for 35 years.
“During this time Marie has overseen the transition of the school, moving from Creggan to its new site on the Northland Road and all challenges that modern education throws up.
“That’s a massive commitment for anyone to undertake in providing a first-class education for thousands of children in our city.
Concluding she said
“On a personal note, as a parent of a daughter at the school, I want to thank her for her dedication and passion she has given to each and every young girl that has attended the school, we are all indebted to her.
