Councillor Cooper said “It would appear that those responsible are intent on nothing more than causing mischief in the area. On this occasion blue bins were destroyed with the residents then left with the inconvenience and cost of replacing them. There was also fire damage to the wall of a house.

This is totally unacceptable and the inconvenience and distress caused to residents cannot be underestimated.  I’ve been in touch with the council to see if these bins could be replaced.

I would also appeal to parents to be aware of what their children are doing and to intervene immediately if they believe their child is involved in this activity. ”
