Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said the DUP should step back from the Brexit brink which is inflicting a recession on the north.
Speaking in Derry this morning, Martina Anderson said:
“Today we have seen more dire economic figures for the north.
“It is undeniable that the private sector is struggling, and people’s jobs are being put at risk from the ongoing Westminster chaos surround Brexit.
“It’s reported that we are entering a full-blow recession, and it’s one of the DUP’s making. They are inflicting economic hardship on people here with their reckless Brexit agenda.
“Economic output has fallen for six months in a row, unemployment has been rising for eight consecutive months.
“Brexit is an assault on the all-Ireland economy
“The DUP seem hell-bent on using a crash-out Brexit to destroy cross-border cooperation and the all-Ireland economy regardless of the impact it will have on the jobs and security of the people in the north of Ireland.”
