Sinn Féin representative Tina Burke has appealed to young people in Creggan to respect community buildings in the area.
Her appeal comes after extensive damage was caused to the Old Library Trust building on Central Drive at the weekend.
“There is deep frustration in the community that this building has been targeted on a number of occasions in recent months”
“At the weekend thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused with windows smashed in the office, creche, children’s play area and the creche exit doors to the outdoor play area.
“I offer my full support to all the staff in there who do a great job.
“This centre provides an invaluable service to the people of Creggan and I would appeal to young people to respect it.
