Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has condemned the anti-community behaviour which took place in Hazelbank at the weekend.
Cllr. McGinley said: “On Sunday night a car was burned in close proximity to Marianus Park whilst a property in Rosskeen Park was also the subject of vandalism.
It appears that a crowd of around 30 people from different localities across the city have been causing some disturbance in the Hazelbank area for a period of time and Sunday night’s incidents marked a significant increase in this behaviour.
The residents of Hazelbank do not need this type of behaviour on their doorstep and I have been in contact with the PSNI to ensure that adequate resources are deployed in the area.
I have also asked the Housing Executive to bring the property in Rosskeen Park back into use as quickly as possible.”
