CCMS need to make intentions known of school build on Skeoge Lands –Mullan

Sinn Féin Education spokesperson Karen Mullan MLA has called on the Education Authority and CCMs to make their intentions known as to the future of any school build on the Skeoge Lands.

She spoke after attending a Steering Group Meeting at the Galliagh Shantallow Area Partnership at which representatives of the community and statutory agencies were present.

The Foyle MLA said “Over a year ago I brought this group together so that community, education and statutory agencies would all work together on developing critical infrastructure in Skeoge.

“Our local Sinn Féin council team have been  working very closely in the area with the Housing Association’s and residents all of whom have expressed a need for community, youth and education facilities to be developed in the area.

“I have discussed and have written to the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS) for updates on their plans.

“I will be meeting with them in the coming weeks to impress the urgency of them declaring their intentions and to work closely with the steering group to provide the services required and move this project along.
