Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the news that the Social Development Minister, Mervyn Storey has announced an investment of £292,307 for a public realm scheme for a section of the Strand Road in Derry.

The project will see the installation of new and improved street and feature lighting high quality granite paving, new granite benches, bins and planters and the resurfacing of the roadway .

It’s great to see such a substantial investment along this section of the Lower Strand Road .It will hopefully complement the work that has taken place in the Guildhall Square and along Queens Quay over recent years . And increase the footfall of people going through the area and give a boost to the many businesses there.
