Sinn Féin Councillor Colly Kelly said “I welcome the news that more than 250 small and medium businesses (SMEs ) across the Derry City and Strabane District Council area have now benefited from the  Broadband Connection voucher scheme.

“In the ever developing business world, having high speed broadband is essential in competing in both the local and global market.

“This initiative allows businesses to apply for up to £3,000 that covers installation costs and equipment costs, in upgrading their broadband connection.

“Super fast broadband is available across the north from a variety of providers and already over a thousand businesses have received a ‘Connection Voucher’.

“To apply for this grant you must be a small or medium sized business, a registered charity, a social enterprise or sole trader. I would appeal to businesses to take advantage of this initiative and apply by calling 0800 587 4695 to see if you are eligible.”
