Sinn Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed Finance Minister Conor Murphy’s additional allocation of £13m to local councils.
“I am delighted to welcome this much needed funding from Finance Minister Conor Murphy.
“Councils and council staff have been on the frontline since the beginning of the pandemic and have shown great resilience in their continuation of service delivery to our communities.
“£10m of this funding will help to alleviate some of the strain on our local public services and £3m will go to council managed community development and advice services via the Community Support Programme.
“This allocation brings the total provided by Sinn Féin Ministers to councils to over £120m and will help to offset the worst effects of the ongoing pandemic.
