Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said the European Union needs to take action to stop Israel demolishing humanitarian projects, funded by the EU.
Ms Anderson said;
“The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has published a new report stating that damage to and demolition of European Union funded projects in Palestine has increased.
“While Israeli damage to European Union-funded projects is not new, the report found that in the first three months of 2016 instances have increased dramatically with more than 120 EU funded structures damaged.
“This damage is unacceptable and the EU needs to take immediate action.
“The EU funds these projects because they are necessary for the people of Palestine and Israel cannot be allowed to go on destroying these facilities with immunity.”
