Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed confirmation from the Department for Infrastructure that resurfacing works on the Foyle Springs Road will start on Monday.
He said this would address long running concerns from local residents who have complained about potholes in the road over a long period:
Councillor Cooper said “I have lobbied Roads Service consistently on this issue and i am delighted that they have now confirmed that the works will be taking place.
“Obviously this will create some obstructions and delays in the area whilst the work is taking place but I am sure that residents will be happy to endure these problems in the knowledge that the works will remove the pothole issue which has dogged the area for over a year.
“I look forward to seeing the works completed on schedule and if residents have any concerns they can contact me on 07743175709”
