Sinn Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed the public consultation which has taken place in Culmore and Muff this week to get views on the proposed multi million pound Greenways project between both areas.
Councillor Duffy said “It was great to see the consultation taking place. I attended the event in Culmore and more than one hundred local residents turned up to see the plans and give their views.
There are a number of suggested routes all of which will bring potential to the local area and encourage families and young people to ditch the car and get healthy.
It will also encourage tourism in the area with potential connections with the two large country parks in the area.
I also welcome the connectivity this will bring to this cross border region with the greenway stretching from Culmore to Muff.
Its important as we move forward that we build on this project and all cross border links that can be of benefit to a growing population across this entire area .And make plans to overcome any problems that the implications of Brexit will present for these communities.
