Sinn Fein Councillor Tony Hassan has welcomed the news that work has begun on the installation of new traffic lights at Bradleys Pass in the city.
“There had been frustration in the local community following being told that these lights were to be installed by the end of March. In fact we held a protest to highlight the delay back in May so I think everyone will very much welcome the news that preparation work has now begun for the new lights.
“The Glengalliagh Road is a very busy road for both motorists and pedestrians. Over the last number of years there have been a lot of accidents at its junction with Bradley’s Pass.
Colr. Hassan said the campaign to have the traffic lights installed has been ongoing for quite some time.
“Calls to have traffic lights installed there have been ongoing for as long as I have been in council. The campaign for the lights to be installed has involved all political parties’, community groups, residents and it has been very well covered in both the local print and broadcast media.”
