Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Fleming has said there is huge concern within the farming community about the potential of a Brexit.
“Sinn Féin representatives have been speaking to a wide range of farmers and people working in the agri-food industry over recent weeks.
“There are serious concerns about the potential loss of access to a vital EU funding such as Single Farm Payments and other funding opportunities.
“Without EU support, many farm businesses would not survive.
“Farmers and the agri-food industry are worried too about the impact trade barriers and tariffs could have particularly on cross border trade.
“It is vital that locally elected politicians work together in the best interests of the farming and agricultural community.
“The people of the north voted to remain in the EU and that mandate must be respected.
