Sinn Féin Councillor Colly Kelly has welcomed the news that firmus energy it is to reduce its domestic and business natural gas tariffs across North which will mean annual savings locally of between £29 and £31 for an average domestic customer.
This tariff decrease, was agreed following discussions with the Utility Regulator, DETI and the Consumer Council NI.
Councillor Colly Kelly said
“I welcome the news that customers in Derry will be amongst ten towns and cities across the north who will be receiving a 5% reduction in natural gas prices from the 1st October.
Sinn Féin has continually lobbied for a reduction in fuel and energy costs across the board. In a weekly household budget every penny counts and whilst this will not solve the ever present problem of fuel poverty the reduced price will hopefully go some way to ease the pressure on many households in Derry.
