Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed the news that the Communities Minister Paul Givan has announced funding of £650,000 to create a high quality public realm scheme for Nailors’ Row in Derry.
Councillor Patricia Logue said
I welcome the announcement of this public realm scheme which will include a new lighting system, traffic measures, footpaths and new greenery.
This will help enhance safety for residents living in the House in the Wells , Alexander House and because of its proximity to the Derry Walls also help our tourism product.
Anyone who is in this area on a daily basis will tell you that the road beside Alexander House is always very busy, there are a lot of cars parked in this area and at times it can be very congested. This leads to concerns about access for the emergency services.
I look forward to the commencement of this work in January.
