Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed an information meeting that was held in the Gasyard with residents of Bluebell Hill Gardens and the Housing Executive to discuss a major refurbishment scheme to be carried out in their homes.
Councillor Logue said “For years now these resident have experienced a range of issues with their homes such as dampness and plaster falling off walls.
They were advised that the long awaited essential work is to begin on their homes hopefully by the end September.
The work includes plastering and insulation outside of homes, new windows, doors and roofing work.
The timeline for the rest of the work is as follows-
New Kitchens -October 2018
External maintenance scheme – April 2019
Heating – August 2019
I am trying to get the installation of kitchens brought forward as residents have waited a very long time for these issues to be addressed.
To complement the work on the houses I have also been in contact with Transport NI to have the roadway in the street and footpaths renewed.
If any resident has questions on the work they should feel free to contact me.
