Sinn Féin MP Elisha McCallion is seeking an urgent meeting with BT following its announcement that it intends to close 90 per cent of its offices.
The Foyle MP said:
“News that BT intends to close 90 per cent of its offices has caused great concern among its workforce and their families in Derry and across the north.
“These workers need certainty and it is incumbent on management at BT to speak to staff and make them fully aware of what is happening.
“Management also need to engage with unions to discuss the future of staff across its locations.
“I will be seeking an urgent meeting with BT management locally as well as the company’s headquarters to discuss the concerns of staff.” Ends/Críoch
