McGinley welcomes Ballymagroarty light improvement scheme‏

Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has welcomed the increased number of street lighting standards being replaced in Ballymagroarty.

Cllr. McGinley said: “In response to my request street lighting engineers initiated a replacement programme for standards along the main thoroughfares in Ballymagroarty.

As work progressed it became evident that a greater number of street lights needed to be replaced and I am pleased to say that a total of almost 70 new standards will be installed as part of this ongoing programme.

Not only will this initiative provide better quality lighting for Ballymagroarty it will also considerably enhance the appearance of the estate and I would take this opportunity to commend Transport NI’s street lighting section for its positive response to my request on behalf of residents.”
