Sinn Féin Councillor for Rosemount Mickey Cooper has welcomed confirmation from DRD Roads Service that they will examine a number of traffic issues along Rosemount/Park Avenue to improve safety for pedestrians.
He said a number of residents, including many with young children, had complained about the speed and conduct of traffic driving through the area:
“I met with DRD Roads Service staff in the area this week to discuss a range of issues.
I am pleased that they are going to conduct a traffic survey in front of Brooke Park as a number of residents have expressed concerns that cars were driving too fast in this area.
In addition I have been assured that they will also bring forward proposals to address other safety issues caused by the high volume of traffic going through the area which will hopefully alleviate some of the problems being experienced by local residents”
