Carnhill to get new play park provisionPublished: 8 March, 2010
Sinn Féin Councillor Elisha McLaughlin has welcomed the news that the Outer North Partnership Board is to begin discussions with residents in the Carnhill area over the provision for a new play park for the area.Councillor McLaughlin said"I welcome the news that a consultation process being undertaken by Outer North Partnership Board will begin shortly with residents in the Carnhill area over the much needed provision of a new play park for children in the area. This will involve finding a suitable location in the area for the new park, drawing up concept plans of what the park should look like, and listening to the views of local residents and establishing the needs of the area.Ultimately the people of Carnhill will decide about the creation of a new play area and I will support local residents' views on the way forwardWe should follow the examples of others cities that are seeking to preserve family friendly green areas of open space and play parks They are an asset we must use at every opportunity to promote healthy living and supporting the implementation of a play policy for our children and young people
