Poots incinerator decision 'crazy' - de Brún

Bairbre de Brún MEP has slammed the decision by Minister Edwin Poots to approve the proposal for a Rose Energy incinerator at Glenavy as 'crazy'.

The MEP has been a long-standing opponent of the proposal and has been supportive of the campaign against the proposal by local people.

Ms de Brún said:

"The Minister's decision to approve the proposal is crazy. We don't need this plant. There are more environmentally friendly ways of disposing of chicken litter and this incinerator will cause untold problems in the area and further afield."
