The biggest escape of republican Prisoners from a British jail will be recounted on Tuesday night in Carrickmore as three of the escapees will hold a public talk. Three of the escapees, Sean McGlichey and Joe Corey from South Derry alongside Tyrone escapee Seamus Campbell will recount their story of the escape in September 1983. Read full article

This Year marks the 28th Anniversary of the 1981 Hungerstrikes, this time was a very emotional time for republicans having to stand by and watch their comrades die in prison, on the outside the volunteers of Óglaigh Na hÉireann were engaged in all out war with the British Armed forces. In Derry the republican community gathered to mourn the death of the 4th Hungerstriker Pasty O' Hara but 4 days after the burial of Pasty O' Hara they were once again mourning the lost of two brave volunteers Óglach George Mc Brearty and Óglach Charles 'Pop' Maguire. On 5 May 1981 IRA Volunteer, Hunger Striker and Fermanagh South/Tyrone MP Bobby Sands died in the H-Block prison hospital at Long Kesh. He had endured 65 days without food, and had spent his last two days in a coma. Sands' emaciated body, lying in state at his home in Belfast's Twinbrook estate, told the story of the torment and suffering which he had endured. Read full article
