Sinn Féin Foyleside Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed confirmation from the Housing Executive that a proposed maintenance and window replacement scheme for their properties in Ballymagroarty held up due to COVID19 is now to take place in late spring 2021.
Councillor Cooper said “I have been lobbying the Housing Executive for some time now to carry out a window replacement scheme to their properties in the Ballymagroarty area.
“I was very pleased that this had led to confirmation from the Housing Executive that a window replacement scheme involving 425 homes would start in May 2020.
“This work has subsequently been delayed by the coronavirus, but I have continued to lobby for the scheme to go ahead and I am delighted to now confirm that surveys of tenants’ properties will begin in November with a view towards the full scheme beginning in late spring 2021.
“I will provide further details to residents as I receive updates from the Housing Executive. If anyone has any further queries they should feel free to contact me.
