Sinn Féin Education spokesperson Karen Mullan is to hold a site meeting with members of the Board of Governors of Foyle College and community representatives to look at measures to try and stop anti community activity in the old Foyle College school grounds on the Northland Road.
The Foyle MLA said
“After being contacted by a number of residents about the situation at the old school grounds I contacted Foyle College and made them aware of anti-social behaviour and asked that they secure the site and step up security over the summer period.
“I have also arranged a site visit with members of the Board of Governors and community representatives to look at how we can actively work together to stop this activity.
“I have also contacted the Education Authority and have arranged a meeting with them to discuss the timely completion of the transfer, security of site and time frame for new school build.
“We will be working closely with all stakeholders to combat the destruction of the school, anti-community activity and progressing the new build.
