Sinn Féin to hold major public meeting in Derry

Sinn Féin is to hold a major public meeting in the city next week as part of a series of meetings across Ireland .The party have a held a  number of similar meetings in the past in the city with hundreds in attendance at the Guildhall and Millennium Forum.

The first meeting in this series is to be held in Derry.

Outlining the meeting Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney said

“Sinn Féin are organising a series of Community Engagement Meetings across the north, led by Sinn Féin Leadership. 

These are public meetings, open to everyone and the maximum effort needs to be put in to mobilise for each of them.  No other party presents themselves in front of the public like this.

Gerry Adams TD, Mary Lou McDonald TD and Martin McGuinness MLA will each be addressing three of the meetings. They will be complimented by other Sinn Féin leadership figures at each event.

The meetings will provide an update on the current national political and economic situation, outlining the republican strategy towards 2016 and there will be an opportunity for Q & A.

Martin McGuinness will be the main speaker at the Derry meeting which will be held next Tuesday night in the Waterfoot Hotel at 7.30pm.
