Sinn Féin Waterside representative Christopher Jackson has welcomed the news that Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland, has announced funding of £204,960 for the Whistle Project based in the Waterside area of Derry
Christopher Jackson said
“The Whistle project is a fantastic youth facility that runs on a small staff but draws in hundreds of young people from the local area. The majority of the group’s revenue is self-generated, which this makes the news about the funding even more deserving.
The community workers in the area are to be commended for their hard work in ensuring the funding came to Top of the Hill. Work on the refurbishment is to commence soon and when completed will enhance the facility for the young people.
