Sinn Féin Councillor Christopher Jackson has urged residents in the Limavady Road area to be on alert after a number of homes there were burgled.
“Thieves have no respect for you or your property; helping to catch them is the best way of safeguarding your own property and your neighbours.
I would appeal to the public to practice vigilance in the area in an effort to catch those involved and prevent further break-ins. It also important that people make arrangements if they are heading off on their summer holidays to have a neighbour or family member to keep an eye on their house whilst they are away.
I would also appeal to anyone with information or who may have seen anything to pass this to the PSNI. People like this cannot be allowed to prey on our community.
