Mr McGuinness said;
“Today the Executive has agreed a budget that will invest an additional £133m in our health service, maintained education spending at the same levels as last year and set up a mitigation fund to support the most vulnerable.“We have set out investments of over £1 billion in key flagship projects such as the A5, the A6, Belfast Rapid Transport and Transport Hub, Desertcreat and the Mother and Children’s Hospital.
“This is an immediate investment in jobs, in our quality public services and in our long-term economic growth.“We have not been able to achieve all we would have liked due to the Tory cuts to our budget
“The approach of the Tory party is undemocratic, unfair and economically counterproductive. We are totally opposed to their failed policies and will stand up for the people here, our economy and our public services.
“We believe that investment in public services and in economic growth will increase employment and the quality of life of all our people. That is why the full powers to grow and invest in our economy should be in the hands of the people here.”
