Woodland Mews residents demand action on unfinished development-Jackson

Sinn Féin Waterside Councillor Christopher Jackson saidChristopher TOH 1

“The residents living in Woodland Mews I have spoken with are becoming increasingly frustrated at what they believe is the lack of action by the developer to bring the estate up to standard for adoption.

When buying their homes residents believed they were buying into a family friendly estate. Five years on with all the properties sold the site isn’t finished. They have told me children are continually falling on the uneven surfaces or tripping over the raised manhole covers.

Worryingly there is also a major concern with the sewage network, it blocks up on a regular basis requiring residents to physically clear any blockage themselves. The smell coming from the blocked sewers can be overpowering even inside the homes.

I would call on the developer to work with NI water and Transport NI to find a resolution to these issues as a matter of urgency and to take action to protect the residents that are living within this estate.
